Sonam swears off John Galliano’s designs

Sonam Kapoor has decided never to wear outfits designed by John Galliano. She is apparently very upset his anti-Semitic statements. The actress, who loves wearing creations by a certain Parisian fashion house, is shocked at the anti-Semitic statements allegedly passed by their head designer John Galliano.
Says a source, “She is extremely fashion conscious and loves wearing the brand’s outfits, especially those designed by Galliano. For Aisha, a majority of Sonam’s outfits and accessories came from the designer label.
She even possesses a few outfits from the fashion house. But she could never condone anti-Semitic statements no matter how much she loves the designer.
She was on Twitter when she first heard that Galliano had passed such remarks.”
Kapoor feels that though John is a genius, no one has the liberty to make such statements that hurt the sentiments of all.
“She is disgusted and has decided not to wear the brand.”
P.S: Fashion designer John Galliano was arrested in Paris recently for verbally attacking a woman and for making anti-Semitic insults after a drinking session. Though he issued an apology, Galliano has been suspended. He could spend up to six months in prison if convicted.

Cuba Crocodile Species

The Cuban crocodile (Crocodylus rhombifer) is a small species (2.4 meters average length) of crocodile found only in Cuba’s Zapata Swamp and the Isle of Youth, and highly endangered, though it formerly ranged elsewhere in the Caribbean. Fossils of this species have been found in the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas

Found only in certain swamps of Cuba and Isla de la Juventud, this crocodile is highly endangered nowadays. At three meters (9.84′) long, it is not particularly large for a crocodile, and it doesn’t have a very unusual appearance either, but don’t let this fool you; it is actually one of the most unique crocodilians, and according to zookeepers who have worked with them, they are also the most aggressive of them all. Due to the rarity of the species, and their extremely limited range, attacks of Cuban crocodiles on humans are uncommon and seldom reported; even so, they are very dangerous, not only because of the usual reasons (bone crushing jaws, puncturing teeth and immense strength), but also because of their unusual agility and intelligence. Keepers have reported that Cuban crocodiles can work
as a team to surround and subdue large prey (humans included!), the same way “raptor” dinosaurs are supposed to have done in prehistoric times. Although Nile crocodiles have also been reported to hunt in coordinated groups, they don’t seem to do this as often, or as skillfully, as Cuban crocodiles do. This is a very active species that spends a lot of time on land, although they are still considered to be semiaquatic animals rather than terrestrial.
This species has numerous interesting characteristics that set it apart from other crocodilians, such as its brighter adult colors, rougher, more ‘pebbled’ scales, and long, strong legs. This species is the most terrestrial of crocodiles, and also possibly the most intelligent. A colony of this species at Gatorland, Florida has also exhibited what is strongly suspected to be pack-hunting behavior, which has prompted much interest in the species, usually kept singly (especially so after such reports

Otis the Smiling Hippo

Perhaps he is having a pleasant dream or he may simply be obliging the snap-happy tourists passing his tank but, either way, he looks pretty pleased with himself.
‘When we saw his face we just thought we had to get a picture,’ said Jay Parker, who took this photo of wife Lauren, 30, with the animal during a trip to San Diego Zoo. Now the innocent holiday snap has taken
cyberspace by storm, popping up on blogs and chatrooms from America to China.
IT consultant Mr Parker, who was also snapped with Otis, even gets fan mail from web users the world over.
‘It’s kind of strange to think there are people out there with a picture of me on their comp­uter but I guess I’m just the hippo man as far they’re concerned,’ added the 35-year-old from Little Rock, Arkansas. the amusing moment came after a day of squabbling between Otis and his new female tank mate Funani. The week we were there the zoo had just put two hippos together for the first time,’ said Mr Parker.
‘On Otis’s back you can see the scarring from his fight with Funani. This is normal hippo behaviour but I don’t think he won. ‘When I look at his face I think he looks pretty tired by it all, or maybe he’s having a happy dream. Either way it’s a great picture.’
